Newborn care

One of the biggest responsibilities for a new parent is making sure your baby gets consistent preventive medical care. When you choose Novant Health Arbor Pediatrics for your baby, you will have a team of professionals to monitor the growth and development of your baby, and to answer any questions you have. And take it from us… you will have questions!

Hospital visits

If you deliver at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, your baby's doctor will visit before you even leave the hospital! This gives your child's pediatrician a chance to learn about any medical issues related to delivery or that might have happened since birth. It also gives you a chance to say hello and ask any questions you have about baby care or your next visit with us.

Infant preventive care schedule

For the first few months of your baby's life, you will be seeing us a lot! Typically, you will visit us when your baby is:

  • 2-3 days after hospital discharge
  • 1 month old
  • 2 months old
  • 4 months old
  • 6 months old
  • 9 months old
  • 12 months old
  • 15 months old
  • 18 months old
  • 24 months old

After that, your child will visit us for well-child checkups once a year.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations protect your baby from some of the most dangerous illnesses in the world. Our office follows the American Academy of Pediatrics vaccination guidelines.

Prenatal visits

Looking for a pediatrician for your baby? One of the best things you can do is visit a pediatricians' office to see if it is the right fit for your growing family.

At Novant Health Arbor Pediatrics, our providers regularly set aside time to meet with expectant parents. Bring your questions, or just come in to see our office and learn about choosing a doctor for your baby.

Call 336-277-1650 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to schedule your prenatal visit.
